Sequim city in Washington, US is located along the Dungeness River. It is a small city and the population is nearly 7,000. Earlier, it was not as densely populated, but in recent years, the retirees from California and Puget Sound region have started entering Sequim, which has caused a significant increase in the population levels.

Sequim is situated near the Olympic Mountains between the towns of Port Townsend and Port Angeles. As the city is close to some of the wettest regions of United States, the climate there is humid with cool breezes and fogs.

The city and its surroundings are famous for its commercial cultivation. It is particularly known as the Lavender Capital of North America. The Lavender festival is celebrated every year during the summer season; the event is held for three days in July every year.

During the festival, there are lavender farms to visit with sequenced rows of beautiful lavender. Food and drinks such as lemonade, ice-creams, cakes and other desserts are also provided with lavender.

Fresh lavender and products made up of lavender such as body washes, soaps, etc. are put on sale. Six lavender farms are available to visit and spend plenty of time.

Farmers demonstrate the cultivation of lavender and its usage.It’s really lovely to watch the demonstration in which a lot of lavender is used or consumed to make one ounce of oil.

The Street Fair

The street fair with food, entertainment and things to buy such as gifts made with lavender, lavender soaps, crafts,beautiful art work, personal care products and many more is amazing. At the fair, they allow pets if a leash is put on, but at the farms it is not allowed. Arrangements for pet sitting are also there.
